Things We Love in Paraty

  • BEACHES

Paraty offers many beaches reachable by foot, driving or by boat tour on the crystal clear ocean. "Saco do Mamangua Beach" is an amazing fjord, with pristine beaches, jungle and mangrove areas surrounded by mountains. "Praia do Cachadaco" is a breathtaking paradise-like beach with a natural sea swimming pool nearby. "Sono Beach" is a pretty, very local and somewhat desert beach. "Lula Beach" is a beautiful spot, where jungle meets the clean white sand.
  • SCUBA AND SNORKELLING

Paraty is a popular and for many, a favourite point to dive, for both beginners and experienced divers. It is not necessary to cancel a trip out to sea in Paraty due to bad weather because it is "a bay inside" Ilha Grande's "bay" and Paraty may be considered the capital of Brazilian diving. With great experienced instructors, you will feel safe in the calm and clear water while seeing all of the marine's natural beauties (the fish!).
  • BOAT TOURS

There are plenty of options of how to get around the islands and bays. Maybe a speed boat suits you the most, or how about a pirate ship(!)? Or maybe you would like to do the work yourself and try kayaking or canoeing? Or are you more adventurous and want to try river rafting? Or maybe boats aren't your thing and you really just want to surf along the beautiful beaches? There is alternatives for everyone to explore Paraty's nature and water offerings.
  • HISTORIC CENTER

This village's center is filled with charming shops, restaurants and bars. There are shows with live music at some of the bars, and restaurants serve everything from Brazilian to Thai fare, making this small town a true international destination. The city tours in Paraty will teach you a little bit about the colonization of the town, and how its early colonizers lived and produced.
